This Series of rural landscape paintings started after a visit to Bolivia. I am very attracted to mountains since I was myself born in a city by the slopes of the Eastern Cordillera (Cordillera Oriental) on the north end of the Andes. Once you get to see these mountains again after a long absence, you are amazed by their magnificence and beauty. I felt as if they took over the space completely, leaving just a little room, if any, for the sky. That is probably the reason why almost all my mountain paintings show little sky. I loved the many colors on their slopes and jewel looking rocks of the snowy peaks.
